The rendering style of this early 1980s Leica R version II vintage lens maintains vintage character yet is surprisingly sharp and well-corrected given the age. Wide open, contrast and saturation are light to medium, the center is sharp at all apertures, whereas the edges render slightly softer at larger apertures. The Leica color palette from this vintage is fairly balanced but may lean slightly warmer. The overall image is relatively sharp but maintains a rich Leica character and is prone to exhibit interesting flares, ca and sa effects.
