Leica 50mm F1.4 SUMMILUX-R lens in excellent working condition for a very reasonable price.

Condition details (see recent photos):
  • Cosmetically 8/10 only light signs of use/wear to the black finish including some light paint touch-up but with no damage to the body, mount or hood.
  • Optically 9/10 recently cleaned and without scratches, large dusts, haze, fungus, separation and no oil on the blades (some normal micro-dusts present as with nearly all used lenses).
  • Mechanically 9/10 focus feels very smooth, without play and without very much drag/resistance (thanks to recent CLA). Aperture/iris are in great working order and built-in hood still extends/retracts perfectly.

9/10 Cosmetics: Light signs of visible use/wear to the finish. No dents, dings or scratches to the body, mount or Cine-Mods.®

9/10 Optics: Without fungus, haze, deep scratches, separation or oil on the blades. Upon close inspection typical tiny dusts may be visible.

9/10 Mechanics: Focus movement feels smooth and consistent. Aperture/iris and built-in retractable hood are in great working order.

Vintage Character

The rendering style of this early 1980s Leica R version II vintage lens maintains vintage character yet is surprisingly sharp and well-corrected given the age. Wide open, contrast and saturation are light to medium, the center is sharp at all apertures, whereas the edges render slightly softer at larger apertures. The Leica color palette from this vintage is fairly balanced but may lean slightly warmer. The overall image is relatively sharp but maintains a rich Leica character and is prone to exhibit interesting flares, ca and sa effects.
