Condition details (and see recent photos):

  • Cosmetically: 9/10 light signs of use to the black finish but no damage to the body, mount or built-in hood.
  • Optically: 9/10 without scratches, haze, fungus, large dusts, separation or oil on the blades. Front and rear elements look great. Overall significantly cleaner than most in my experience.
  • Mechanically: 9/10 Focus is smooth, consistent, without play. Aperture, iris, cine-mods and brand new Sony E mount are in great working order.
Cine-Mods® Include:

1. Focus Gear 
A seamless 32-pitch (0,8 module) focus gear precision machined from solid Black Delrin® to ensure a no-slip, non-binding reliable fit. The gear was installed by a skilled technician to ensure a lifetime of accurate operation. No zips, clips, or 3D prints!

2. Front Ring
The front ring threads directly onto the existing filter threads of the lens and provide a common 80mm outside diameter surface for clamp-on accessories as well as a 77mm filter thread on each ring. Precision machined from billet 6061 aluminum and anodized black for a durable finish. 

3. Front Cap 
Custom Optical Brilliance Designed metal front cap includes important info like focal length, speed, series and close focusing distance for each lens. Made from aluminum, it's engineered to absorb impact, and keep your lenses clean & safe. 

4. De-Click / Dampen
Aperture de-clicking is a vital part of the Cine-Mod. A true cinema lens features a step-less aperture that allows fine adjustment without "clicking" between f-stops. Duclos Lenses modifies the aperture movement by removing the "click" mechanism and damping the movement to create a consistent, creamy rotation. We use a high-quality lubricant to ensure a professional feel and operation of your lens.

5. Leitax Sony E hard mount
The mount conversion is made from billet stainless steel to provide a robust, reliable marriage between your lens and camera body. All mount conversions include parts, hardware, installation, and calibration. The installation was carried out by a skilled technician and properly collimated using specialized test equipment.

Vintage Character

The rendering style of this early 1980s Leica R version II vintage lens maintains vintage character yet is surprisingly sharp and well-corrected given the age. Wide open, contrast and saturation are light to medium, the center is sharp at all apertures, whereas the edges render slightly softer at larger apertures. The Leica color palette from this vintage is fairly balanced but may lean slightly warmer. The overall image is relatively sharp but maintains a rich Leica character and is prone to exhibit interesting flares, ca and sa effects.
